Introduction to the Continuous Casting Process

The continuous casting process is widely used for the production of semi-finished products of copper and other non-ferrous alloys. During continuous casting, liquid metal is continuously poured into a mold, solidified in a wire shell inside the mold, and then pulled out downward, sideways or upward. Continuous casting crystallizers are divided into horizontal continuous casting crystallizers and up-directed mold continuous casting crystallizers.

Our graphite crystallizers have excellent thermal conductivity, chemical and heat resistance and high strength. Factors such as the finish of the inner surface of the crystallizer, the dimensional accuracy and the tolerance of the gap after assembly will affect the surface effect of the drawn copper or the frequency of use of the crystallizer. Graphite material is the ideal material for processing continuous casting crystallizer because of its high temperature resistance, oxidation resistance, chemical erosion resistance, self-lubricating and good thermal conductivity and other characteristics.
