Introduction of Graphite Rotor Application in Aluminum Industry

Graphite rotor consists of two parts: rotor rod and nozzle. The transmission system drives the graphite rotor to rotate, and argon or nitrogen gas is blown into the aluminum melt through the rotor rod and nozzle. The graphite rotor rotates at high speed and breaks up the argon or nitrogen gas entering the aluminum melt into many small bubbles, which are dispersed in the metal liquid. The rotating rotor also induces hydrogen and inclusions within the aluminum melt to diffuse and come into contact with the bubbles. Bubbles in the melt by gas partial pressure difference and surface adsorption principle, absorb hydrogen in the melt and adsorption of oxidized inclusions, with the bubbles rise and be taken out of the melt surface, so that the melt can be purified.

The rotating nozzle of the graphite rotor is made of high purity and high density graphite. The nozzle structure not only takes into account the dispersion of bubbles, but also the high purity antioxidant graphite rotor has the characteristics of high strength, high temperature resistance, and resistance to corrosion by aluminum flow. The surface of graphite rotor is treated with special antioxidant treatment, and its service life is about 5 times that of ordinary products, which is widely used in aluminum alloy casting industry.
