EDM Graphite Electrode
Description
The material used to process EDM graphite electrodes is graphite. This graphite material is a man-made graphite made from petroleum coke and asphalt coke as aggregates and coal pitch as binder, through the processes of calcination of raw materials, crushing and grinding, batching, mixing and kneading, molding, roasting, impregnation, graphitization and mechanical processing.
In general, EDM graphite electrode has the following advantages compared with EDM copper electrode:

What is EDM Graphite Electrode?
EDM graphite electrode is a commonly used electrode material in EDM, favored for its high electrical and thermal conductivity as well as excellent machinability. The graphite is mainly made of high-purity graphite material with a purity of more than 99%, which enables rapid transfer of current and heat, thus improving the processing efficiency and precision of the electrode. In addition, EDM graphite electrode has excellent mechanical properties, such as high hardness, high wear resistance and low coefficient of friction, which makes it perform well in high load and high temperature processing environments.
Applications
EDM graphite electrode is mainly used for processing various complex shapes and precision fine workpieces, such as the convex die, concave die, convex and concave die, fixed plate, unloading plate, etc. of blanking dies, forming tools, sample plates, metal electrodes for EDM molding processing, as well as a variety of microscopic holes and grooves, narrow slits and arbitrary curves.
